Live-O Five-O

GENRE

BAND BIO

Punk Rock

We are a 4-piece punk rock band with Syamsul on Vocals/Rhythm Guitar, Farhan on Vocals/Lead Guitar, Rizduan on Vocals/Bass and Hafiz on rums.

How did you guys get together?

We started out as a two-piece band (Syamsul and Hafiz), wanting to join Live-O Five-O just for the fun of it since the two of us are in the midst of our National Service. Once we got in, we started to take the band and the music we have a bit more seriously. We asked a couple of friends to jam with us (Farhan and Rizduan) and VOILA!!! Here we are!

What inspires you to create the songs that you do?

Bad relationships, bad breakups and relationships and break ups that were bad. Technically, anything and everything that we are going through right now. So if we were to get better in the future, we’re going to say ‘yay’ to tons and tons of love songs!

What do you hope for the audience to imagine or feel when they listen to your songs?

Hopefully they can relate to our songs or at least understand the songs we have. Maybe they felt or went through something familiar to our situation.

Why do you think fellow Singaporeans can relate to your music?

We want to write as best as we can and as honest as we can, so we really love writing songs with specific lyrical details, the actual date of the event or the location in which the song refers to. It kind of makes our music special in a way. Everyone will go through heartbreaks at least once in his or her life. Hopefully we can provide the proper soundtrack and music for them to go through it or get over their heartbreak!

You've been on a journey with anaki. How have the last 6 months made you feel?

We really love the fact that they are open to letting new bands, fresh bands perform up on stage. Anaki takes risks and they do it with style.

What are your hopes for Singapore circa 2050?

We hope that in 20 years we are open to more creativity and ideas, especially in the field of the arts. Art is about telling stories, music too, and we would love to hear more from Singaporeans, their stories and what they have to offer.
